Khara Biscuits

For a quite long time, I have been thinking about baking some spicy cookies. Something that is similar to the ones that we get in the bakery. It was then I came across this recipe and wanted to try it immediately. But however, I made some twists and turns to the original version to get my version of Khara biscuits. Here is my recipe, which i am sure, will be a topper.

Ingredients
  • 250 gms Maidaif needed you can replace maida using wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup buttersalted or unsalted
  • 4 tsp sugarpowdered will be better as it will mix well
  • 1tsp saltyou can add it as per your taste
  • 3numbers green chilliesyou can add extra if needed
  • 5 tsp corriander leavesyou can add extra if needed
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp curry powderyou can also add garam masala if needed
  • 2tsp egg whitethis is optional, this is added to get the golden color on the top of the cookies
  • 1tbsp curdyou can add it more if needed
Servings: biscuits
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 160 C
  2. Grease the cookie tray and keep it aside
  3. beat butter and sugar till it is creamy. The sugar should dissolve completely in the butter.
  4. sieve the flour and salt together and add to the butter mixture. You can also add the turmeric powder and curry powder at this time.
  5. Start kneading the dough using your hands until you get a dough similar to the Chapattis. You can add curd till you get that consistency.
  6. add the corriander leaves and chillies. Chillies and corriander leaves should be minced small.
  7. Using a rolling pin press the dough till you get a rectangle shape.
  8. use a cookie cutter to cut as per your wish.
  9. bake in the pre heated oven for 15- 20 minutes or until the cookies are fully baked
  10. Keep the baked cookies on a cooling rack until they are completely cooled.
